The League Managers Association has handed Norwich City its LG Performance of the Week Award for the Canaries' dramatic 3-2 win over Newcastle.

Decided by an esteemed five-man panel comprising of LMA chairman Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Joe Royle, Dave Bassett and Barry Fry, the performance was chosen as the best of the past week.

The match was settled in injury-time by a rare strike from left-back Martin Olsson, after Newcastle had twice wiped out the home side's lead, to move Norwich six points clear of the Magpies in the survival battle.

It is the second time City boss Alex Neil has won the award this season, having also been chosen following the 2-1 victory at Manchester United in December – the first Canaries win at Old Trafford in 26 years.

The 34-year-old will receive a specially commissioned trophy to commemorate the award.
