Lewis Grabban is taking nothing for granted at Norwich City after his tough football upbringing.

Neil Adams' first summer signing failed to make the grade at boyhood club Crystal Palace before loan stints with the likes of Oldham, Motherwell and Brentford prior to a prolific goalscoring spell at Bournemouth which helped him seal his big break at Carrow Road.

'I think it did make me more hungry,' said the 26-year-old. 'I had to drop down after starting with Crystal Palace so I would say I am a bit more appreciative now of what I have. I had to go and play lower league football and that is tough, but that is the route sometimes you have to take.

'It is massive for me to get this opportunity to come and play for Norwich and hopefully push for the Premier League. It is a big opportunity. I will work hard on the pitch, I am a team player and I generally try to give everything for the club. I've settled in well and the lads have been very welcoming.

'I knew a couple of them anyway. I knew Surs (Andrew Surman) from his time at Bournemouth and when he was a bit younger, Elliott Bennett and Russell Martin. The squad is very strong and I think we can go straight back up. The first thing you notice is the quality we have here.'
