The latest close season rumour mill claims Norwich are weighing up a double swoop on former Football League rivals Leeds for Robert Snodgrass and Bradley Johnson.

The Sun said yesterday that City and Sunderland will go 'head-to-head' for midfielder Johnson. The 24-year-old is soon to be a free agent after allowing his current Elland Road deal to run down.

Leeds boss Simon Grayson, however, will fight to keep talented wide player Snodgrass. The 23-year-old was a youngster at Livingston north of the border alongside Paul Lambert when the City boss finished his playing days prior to his first foray into management in 2005.

Snodgrass impressed against the Canaries over the past two seasons and according to national radio station, Talksport, Lambert is keen on a reunion. Newcastle are also apparently among a host of top flight clubs monitoring the situation in Yorkshire.

Meanwhile, Sheffield United's Welsh striker Ched Evans – linked with a possible return recently to Carrow Road where he enjoyed a successful loan stint – is now on Leicester's radar. The Blades are reportedly keen to offload Evans from their wage bill following the drop to League One.
