Norwich City's second round EFL League Cup tie against Coventry City has been confirmed for Tuesday, August 23 at Carrow Road (KO 7:45pm)
Alex Neil's men are in Championship derby action this Sunday, when they travel to Ipswich Town, but City will embark on their cup journey against the League One visitors on the following Tuesday.
Tony Mowbray's Sky Blues booked their trip to Norfolk with an extra-time 3-2 win over Portsmouth at the Rioch Arena. The tie marks a swift return for Coventry City who lost 3-0 in a pre-season friendly at Carrow Road, with former Sky Blues' pair James Maddison and Jacob Murphy involved in the third goal that evening.
Norwich's tie has not been selected for live television coverage with Championship rivals Burton hosting Liverpool on Skysports on the Tuesday and Accrington Stanley at home to Premier League Burnley the following night the live television picks.
• A Norwich City Under-23 side featuring Tony Andreu and Michael Turner as over-age outfield players lost 3-0 to Newcastle United's Under-23s on Monday afternoon at Colney in the club's opening development league fixture. Haris Vuckic struck twice and Gael Bigirimana was also on target for the Magpies.
