Kyle Lafferty's Euro 2016 goalscoring surge for Northern Ireland is good news for Norwich City boss Neil Adams.

Lafferty is yet to open his account for the Canaries but took his tally to three goals in three qualifiers with strikes in the wins over the Faroe Islands and Greece during recent days.

Lewis Grabban and Cameron Jerome have been in prolific early-season form at club level, but Adams insists Lafferty will also come to the party after deploying the 27-year-old in a wider role.

'I don't mind where he plays in the team, whether it is centrally or in that wider position. He is part of the group, that is the most important thing and he knows that,' said Adams. 'Obviously we have two others who are scoring goals this season for us but he is a big part of what we are trying to achieve.

'Wherever you play him, whether it is off the central striker or wider you know what you get from Kyle. He will give everything for us. It's important, particularly for strikers, to score goals. Kyle's done that really well for Northern Ireland, two in two in these last games is great, if nothing else, than just for the confidence.

'Players want to be playing well, they want to be playing in the team and they want to do what they've been brought to the club for. It's the same with the midfielders, the defenders and the goalkeepers.

'I'm really pleased for Kyle because I thought he was excellent when he came on for us in the last game (against Rotherham), and he's gone away and scored the two goals. That's exactly what you want from your players.'

Adams cautions injuries and suspensions will ensure all his striking options get a chance to impress.

'Suspensions and injuries will come into play in this league and you know with the workload you'll need Laffs and you'll need Gary Hooper,' he said. 'Laffs himself is on four bookings and they were probably all preventable, but he is one away now from suspension. I wouldn't want to take that natural aggression out of his game. He can lift a game and I wouldn't want to change him because you change the player and his contribution. I'm not a gambling man but it is fairly inevitable he will miss a game at some point so we'll need all the strikers, and don't forget Jamar Loza as well.'
