Spirits are sky high at Norwich City at the moment, typified by a show of support from England new boy James Maddison as Daniel Farke's team stretched their excellent unbeaten run to eight games.

On the eve of his first senior international call-up the Leicester star was watching his former club draw 1-1 at promotion hopefuls Derby, alongside former Canaries team-mates John Ruddy and Ryan Bennett.

The trio saw Timm Klose's thumping header leave City on the verge of six successive victories, only for the Rams to equalise late on, and the goal-scorer was pleased to hear of the additional support at Pride Park.

'I'd heard that Madders was going to be here but I didn't know the other two lads were as well,' Klose said. 'It's brilliant, that just shows how Norwich is such a big and a great family, everyone loves the club and we stick together.

'With Delia we have someone in the lead who gives us that spirit, that family spirit, and I think that shows you that whole thing is positive and players they stick with the club because they had a great time.

'Obviously it is not easy all of the time in football but if you see things like that I think that's very positive.'

After such a positive run of form the late setback against Frank Lampard's side didn't come as too much of a damaging blow, with Daniel Farke's team moving back up to fifth in the Championship table ahead of Saturday's home clash with Stoke.

Just short of 900 fans made the midweek trip and were rewarded with another encouraging performance from a resurgent City side.

'You have to give them the applause, they support us everywhere, they bring loads of fans to every game, it doesn't matter how far away,' the Switzerland international defender continued.

'It's just brilliant to see that they are behind us, we have the best away fans in the league, I think.

'If they come in these crowds and they cheer us on like that then you have to give something back and have to leave your heart out on the pitch – and I think that is what we are doing at the moment.

'They can see that and that's why they try to push us.'
