Leading the celebrations on the Wembley pitch with some excited dancing was ever popular Canaries midfielder Alex Tettey.
The Norwegian international was also in the thick of the action on the pitch to help City beat Middlesbrough 2-0 in the Championship play-off final.
As one of the players who had been unable to prevent City's relegation from the Premier League last season, the triumph meant a great deal to the combative 29-year-old.
'I was so happy to win for the fans, they were fantastic, I was so happy, I was over the moon so I gave them a little bit of a dance,' Tettey said.
'They were great, they were better than at home against Ipswich. To see so many of them gave us the extra power to go there and do our best.'
The magnificent atmosphere created by the Yellow Army was only possible thanks to an excellent first half performance from Alex Neil's side though.
Goals from Cameron Jerome and Nathan Redmond had City 2-0 in front in just the 15th minute, making for a day that Ghana-born Tettey will never forget.
'It was unbelievable, now I understand why they say it's the best way to go up,' he continued. 'If you win it's a very good feeling, with the fans and winning in a good way.
'I am very happy, the group is very happy and we will now have the break and come back to the Premier League, a tough league to be in and win games, but we are really happy at the moment.'
Tettey's season is not over yet, despite Monday's Wembley encounter taking his appearance total for the season to 44 matches, including four matches for Norway.
The midfielder is set for international action in a friendly against Sweden and a Euro 2016 qualifier against Azerbaijan in Oslo at the start of next month.
The Canaries star is pleased to have two more games to play though and hopes it will keep him sharp ahead of returning to action next season.
'I've played a lot of games, more than I did last season because I have not had any major injuries,' the former Rosenborg man said.
'So I will have a couple of days where I will relax and then those games I think will help me because those games are in June and we come back in July, so that will help me to stay fit.'
Tettey racked up his 90th appearance for City in the play-off final, having signed from French side Rennes in the summer of 2012 and playing in two top-flight seasons with the club.
All of which means he is relishing another crack at English football's top table, after signing a new two-year contract in September 2014, with the club having the option for a further year.
'To be back in the Premier League, that's why I came to Norwich and to be back there is fantastic, but also to have the experience that I have played in the Championship,' Tettey added.
'I will take that with me as well because it is a hard league to get up from and to do that at the first attempt is very strong.
'I think most of the squad have the experience because they have played in the Premier League, some have done for three seasons, so I think the team has the foundation to be there, it is just up to the manager and Norwich to add more players to the squad and we will see how we are in August.'
