Full-back Javier Garrido has spoken of his wish to stay with Norwich City after playing a big part in their Premier League revival.

The Canaries take on in-form Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium tomorrow (3pm), looking to extend their unbeaten run to 10 games in all competitions.

Garrido, who arrived in August on a season-long loan from Lazio in Rome, is feeling very much at home at Carrow Road and Colney and would love to make it a more permanent arrangement.

The Canaries have an option to extend the deal for the 27-year-old Spaniard at the end of the season. He has played every league game except the 5-0 defeat at Fulham on the opening day.

'At the moment I am so, so happy here,' he said. 'If things go like they look right now I would like to stay here because I feel so good, so comfortable. I've been playing, I love the games, I love the minutes, so that is the main thing for a footballer. At the moment I am really, really happy.

'It depends how the team finishes in the league and how many games I play for the team. So at the moment we have to wait and see.

'Everything is ready but it takes time times to see how everything is going to happen.

'At the moment I am enjoying it here, the people around me are happy also, which is good for me. The team-mates are great, the supporters give me a welcome also.'

City fans have dedicated a new terrace song to left-back Garrido and he admitted: 'That's good because every footballer needs to feel that sensation from the supporters and at the moment I've got it.'

Manager Chris Hughton said a longer deal had always been a possibility for the former Manchester City defender.

'It's something that was in our thoughts when we took him,' said Hughton. 'We will have an option on him based on how he has done over the period of the season. Whether we would like to make it permanent or not, that will be based very much on what we have seen over the season.

'As with most deals, there are some clauses in loan periods and some terms and parts of it that change a little bit, but it's not game-related and the option will be very much I would think on both sides. It's about what we would like to do and ultimately what he would like to do.'

As for a possible transfer fee, Hughton said: 'We haven't had those conversations yet with Lazio, but I am delighted with what he has given us this season.

'Apart from the first game of the season, he has played in every other league game.

'All of those things will be an issue from club to club. Decisions on whether we keep him will be down to ourselves, down to the lad himself and down to his parent club.'

Goalkeeper John Ruddy, out for three months after surgery on his torn thigh muscle, and defender Michael Turner, who has missed three games with a shoulder problem, are City's absentees at Swansea.

'Michael Turner is quite close. He won't quite make the weekend but we are hoping he is going to train on Monday so that will be a big plus for us,' said Hughton.
