James Maddison conceded just how tough things had been during Norwich City's barren run – before lapping up good feeling following a return to winning ways against Sheffield Wednesday.
Maddison scored City's equaliser and delivered the assist for Timm Klose's bullet header, as the Canaries completed a stirring second-half comeback over the Owls at Carrow Road.
That in turn earned a first Championship victory in eight outings, and a first home win in exactly three months.
Following his own stellar goalscoring and man of the match performances at Reading and Ipswich, Maddison also completed a Sky Sports live hat-trick.
'My record on the telly is quite phenomenal to be honest,' smiled Maddison. 'I mean, every time we play on Sky I seem to score and get man of the match. That's three out of three this season.
'But it was just about getting three points tonight after this run we've been on and it's just a brilliant feeling, to get that winning feeling back after a game.
'It had been a while and I'd forgotten what it felt like to win a game. The lads are buzzing in there.
'I've been in changing rooms before where you are on a run but honestly, in the past few weeks it's one of them where it gets to the point where you're so deflated it takes over your life. You go home and you're deflated at home.
'So just to see the lads buzzing in there… because we work so hard on the training pitch, the fans don't see. We're working so hard to put this right and it's all paid off today, so I'm really happy.'
Maddison admitted finally securing a win in front of their own fans was a big thing, after months of difficult results on home soil.
'It was so important to get that win and especially at home as well,' said the 21-year-old midfielder. 'The home form hasn't been good enough, as I've said on numerous occasions and we owed that one to the fans because they turn up in their numbers every week.
'And yes, we've given them something to moan about in recent times because our form hasn't been good enough. We know that and they know that. So to get a win today and in such a convincing way is very good.
'It was a complete contrast between the two halves. When we were in there at half time I think it was more a case of let's relax. We know we're one goal down and you look around the changing room, we've got so much quality in there – especially off the bench as well, and as a group.
'We know if we go out firing, which we did… Nelson (Oliveira) got an early header on goal and I think that just gave us a lift.
'We had a couple of set-pieces and stuff and went out all guns blazing, and it paid off.'
As for Maddison's goal, it wasn't quite as spectacular as some of his others this season – but just as important.
'It was bouncing so I just had to wait for it to settle and stay composed,' he added. 'I saw the keeper trying to get across to save it, so it was just about getting a good connection. It was nice to score a bit of a tap-in for once.'
