Norwich City Under-21s let a 1-0 lead slip to lose 3-1 at Everton in the Barclays Under-21 Premier League.
The hosts were looking for their first league win of the campaign and drafted in overage players Bryan Oviedo and Felipe Mattioni.
It was Brazilian full-back Mattioni who gave away a penalty in the 32nd minute at the Merseyrail Community Stadium in Southport, which was converted by City striker Jamar Loza.
Mattioni also won back a penalty on the stroke of half-time for David Unsworth's side though, scored by Jonjoe Kenny. Goals from Mason Holgate and Callum Connolly then completed the fightback in the second half.
City U21s: Killip (C); Toffolo, Coker, Efete, Norman; Grant, McGrandles, Loza; Cantwell, Ashley-Seal (Ramsey 67), Eaton-Collins (King 67).
