Josh Murphy is a wanted man this summer – but is he wanted by Norwich City fans?

Former City boss Chris Hughton has reportedly joined the queue of admirers whilst Fulham are also apparently ready to offer a Premier League stage for his talents.

It has got some fans talking that perhaps now is the time for the two parties to go their separate ways. It would allow Murphy to continue his education with a top-flight platform whilst netting a decent fee for City that could be used to strengthen the squad elsewhere.

Murphy was initially backed as the twin most likely destined for big things upon breaking into the first team picture at Carrow Road. However, Jacob's form in the 2016/17 season saw him earn a move to Newcastle United last summer whilst Josh stayed put.

Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez intimated he may return for Josh, who is contracted at Carrow Road until 2021, in the future but it appears his interest has waned although there are plenty of other top-flight suitors.

The flashes of brilliance have still been there, demonstrated by his goal of the season in the 3-1 win against Aston Villa whilst his classy finish in the League Cup against Arsenal demonstrated everything that's good about the 23-year-old.

But some fans have grown frustrated at the winger's inability to impose himself on games.

It's no secret that Norwich need to raise money this summer to plug the £20m hole in their finances due to the end of the parachute payments.

James Maddison expected departure would solve this problem whilst any fee for Murphy could allow sporting director Stuart Webber and head coach Daniel Farke to perform more surgery on a squad that desperately needs to improve on last season's 14th-placed finish.

What would you do? Try and coax the best out of Norwich for at least one more season? Or take the money and use the money elsewhere on the squad? Vote in a our poll.
