MK Dons boss Paul Ince insists his men have nothing but pride left to play for ahead of Saturday's League One trip to Carrow Road.

The Dons' are 11 points adrift of Huddersfield who occupy the final play-off spot after Lee Clark's Terriers beat Oldham 2-0 on Tuesday. Ince has now begun planning for another campaign in English football's third tier after watching his side slip to an Easter Monday 1-0 defeat at Bristol Rovers.

'It probably means the play-offs are beyond us now, which is disappointing because I feel like we've been one of the best six teams in this division,' he said.

'But you don't want the season to fade away and go into the summer with a losing mentality, we want to get back to winning ways and I want to finish above Southampton and Bristol Rovers.

'We've got to get ready to go again next year but, first and foremost, the fans pay good money and for me to jack this season in would be wrong.'

Ince knows he needs to unearth some fresh firepower after firing blanks again in the club's latest west country loss.

The former England midfielder's side is the lowest scorers in the current top ten - having notched 55 goals in comparison to Norwich's 81.

'I feel embarrassed to be sounding like a broken record, but it was another game we've dominated and we didn't have that cutting edge,' he said. 'When you dominate a game you have to take your chances because teams will always come back and bite you if you don't.

'We should have won the Charlton game, we should have won against Bristol Rovers and it just seems we're not getting the rub of the green at the moment. We've contributed to our own downfall by not taking our chances because goals change games.'

MK midfielder Stephen Gleeson is expected to be ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering suspected medial knee ligament damage against Rovers.

Gleeson was injured in the second half at the Memorial Stadium following a collision with Rovers' Andy Williams and was taken from the field on a stretcher.

Ince is already without Peter Leven (ankle) for this weekend's Norwich game and expects 21-year-old Gleeson to be sidelined long term.

The Dons have yet to confirm the full extent of the Irishman's injury after he was initially taken to hospital for scans.
