Two goals from midfielder Henry Randall helped Norwich City's Under-18s beat Aston Villa 3-1 at a windswept Colney.

Khalid Abdo's strike had sent Villa into half-time with a 1-0 lead but the young Canaries turned the game around to secure their second successive victory.

Playing with the wind at their backs after the break, Randall equalised in the 56th minute by heading home from a Ben Wyatt cross, just moments after hitting the crossbar with a free-kick.

Lewis Byrne-Hewitt put City ahead 10 minutes later, following up after a Rhys Browne effort had been parried, before Randall wrapped up the 3-1 win in the 72nd minute with an excellent solo effort.

Under-18s coach Neil Adams, who had fielded trialists Louis Ramsay and Kane Lewis, was pleased with his side's showing.

'The gale force winds didn't help anyone, but we did well in the second half with it behind us. It gave us more confidence,' the former Canaries midfielder told www.canaries.co.uk.

'We played well after the break and scored some really good goals, and could have had a penalty and maybe scored a few more. Overall, we're really pleased with the performance.'
