Fifteen years ago today the heaviest away victory in Premier League history was secured by Manchester United, winning 8-1 at Nottingham Forest, but will that record still be standing on Saturday evening?
The Manchester City wrecking ball was slowed by a 1-0 home defeat to title rivals Chelsea on Monday and next up for the big spenders is a trip to Carrow Road on Saturday. Will the defeat see the 2011-12 champions take out their frustrations on the Canaries? Or can Chris Hughton's side rally and pull off a potentially season-changing triumph?
Hughton splashed the cash last summer to bring in strikers Ricky van Wolfswinkel and Gary Hooper but Norwich have scored just 29 goals in 29 games in all competitions.
That is opposed to Manuel Pellegrini's title challengers, who have scored a huge 114 goals in their 38 games.
There is some hope for the Canaries because the Citizens' Argentine top scorer Sergio Aguero, who has scored 26 goals in 25 games, will be missing with a calf injury.
However he will be replaced by Alvaro Negredo (23 goals in 34 games) and Edin Dzeko (17 in 30) – and that's without even considering powerhouse midfielder Yaya Toure (15 in 32).
Hughton has already admitted his side's 7-0 loss to City at the Etihad in November was his 'lowest point' of the season.
If his side cannot find a way to repel City's irresistible attacking force, then Saturday could be another day to forget.
