Norwich City legend Grant Holt is back in football.
The 37-year-old striker has joined Thurlow Nunn Premier Division side Wroxham, jointly managed by Jordan Southgate and Adam Drury, a former team-mate of Holt’s at Carrow Road.
Holt was included in the Yachtsmen’s starting line-up for the Norfolk Senior Cup game at home to Fakenham Town on Saturday afternoon.
Holt left Barrow in the summer, having had a short spell earlier in the season with King’s Lynn Town. In August he announced his playing days were over and that he had accepted a coaching position with Norwich City, working with the Academy.
Holt was a City player for four years, joining in the summer of 2009, and made 154 appearances, scoring 68 goals. He was named player of the season three years in a row.
Holt will join another Canary, Simon Lappin – both men signed for the Linnets at the same time last year, although the Scotsman saw out the full season at The Walks.
