Norwich City legend Grant Holt was the star attraction of half term at the Canaries Official store at Chapelfield Shopping Centre in Norwich.

The man who scored 78 goals in 168 games to lead City from League One to the Premier League between 2009 and 2013 was signing autographs and posing for photos as he enjoys some summer relaxation with his family in Norfolk.

Holt is currently without a club after helping Hibernian win the Scottish Championship title to secure promotion and, at 36 years old, is taking his time before deciding on his next move.

“You always like to come back and do it, I always like to try and help the club out whenever I can,” the centre-forward said as he met Canaries fans. “They asked the question whether I’d come and do it and it’s good to come.

“There’s plenty of shirts signed that people have had for a long time that they’ve probably brushed a bit of dust off them and come to get them signed!”

Holt scored seven goals in 37 games to help Hibs secure promotion to the Scottish top flight but was told earlier this month he would not be getting a new contract with the Edinburgh club.

Asked if he has had any offers yet, Holt added: “Not as yet, I haven’t really spoken about it to anyone yet. I said I wanted four or five weeks off just to relax, spend time with the wife and family and that’s what I’ve been doing.

“I’m preparing like I would do for any season and we’ll see what happens.”
