Norwich City have moved quickly to make their first signing of the summer, completing the permanent signing of loan midfielder Graham Dorrans from West Brom.

The 28-year-old has signed a two-year deal with the Canaries less than 48 hours after Alex Neil's side sealed the club's immediate return to the Premier League by beating Middlesbrough 2-0 in the Championship play-off final.

The Scotland international came close to signing permanently for City in the January transfer window but ended up joining on loan in February when that deal fell through.

Dorrans made 18 appearances during his loan spell and played an integral role in City's promotion push, with the final match of his loan spell as a 74th-minute substitute at Wembley.

The Scot was confident it would not be his last match for the Canaries though.

'I've really enjoyed it. I spoke to the manager and he said I was coming here to play, obviously it was disappointing personally not to start (at Wembley) but the main aim was to win the game, get the job done,' Dorrans said after Monday's match at Wembley.

'But I think over the next couple of days we'll sort out the things which need to be sorted out.

'I think it's almost done, we've just got little things to sort out but we're almost there.

'The lads have been absolutely fantastic. Obviously I know Russell (Martin) and Whitts (Steven Whittaker) so they've been good with me since I came in and the rest of the lads have taken me in so it's been great, it's really helped me settle.'

Dorrans said he was keen to sign permanently for the club, as he was confident the Canaries can kick on and perform well in the top flight under Alex Neil next season.

'I've played in the Premier League for six years and one of the things I've said to the manager and the boys here is that there are Premier League players here, no doubt about it,' he continued.

'They kept quite a few of the players from when they came down so these boys will do really well when they get up.

'Obviously the gaffer will be looking to add one or two but there's Premier League players in this squad, so we'll do well.'
