A young Norwich City second string were well beaten in last night's Premier Reserve League clash at Fulham's Motspur Park training ground.

It was Fulham's Marcello Trotta who stole the show, with four goals.

A frantic opening period saw City's Jamar Loza denied a certain goal by Josh Passley's expertly-timed tackle, although Fulham's Alex Kacaniklic and Cauley Woodrow missed golden opportunities to put their side in front inside the first five minutes.

Norwich responded positively, but it was Fulham who took the lead when Trotta sent a looping header over Remi Matthews from Kacaniklic's cross on 10 minutes.

The visitors impressed in patches, but once more it was Trotta who proved the difference, with the Italian striker taking the deftest of touches from another inviting cross and smashing home in devastating fashion on the half-hour mark.

Trotta was smiling again minutes later. Having been felled by George Francomb in the box, the striker saw his resulting spot-kick saved, but in reacting quickest to the rebound tapped home to complete his hat-trick.

Loza pulled one back for Norwich six minutes into the second-half when pouncing on Alex Smith's loose back pass and slipping the ball beyond the advance of Somogy, while Harry Toffolo tried his luck from distance.

At the other end another moment of hesitancy at the back allowed Fulham to break through again with Kerim Frei picking the pocket of Francomb and beating Matthews with a cool low finish on 60 minutes.

Five minutes later Trotta made it 5-1 when accelerating through the City defence and striking a left-footed effort across the visiting 'keeper and into the far corner.

Donegan volleyed in from Kacaniklic's arching delivery with City grabbing a second in injury time, but by that point the damage had long been done.
