Robbie Brady is adamant he has joined a Norwich City squad who will prove they belong in the big time ahead of Saturday's opening day Premier League test against Crystal Palace.

The Republic of Ireland international insists the Canaries' top flight quality is going to be a major factor in the months to come.

'There is definitely Premier League quality here,' he said. 'It is no shock to me they came up last season and played so well in doing so. Since they went down they kept most of the players who did well previously, so the lads know what it is about and they have what it takes to keep us at this level.

'It is going to take a lot of hard work and you have some rough times in the Premier League, it is a strange league in many ways, but it's that uncertainty which probably makes it the best league.'

Brady looks set to deputise for Martin Olsson at left-back against the Eagles and the former Hull man is ready to underline his versatility.

'I started out as a left winger but things change and in different formations you get asked to play in different positions that you are not familiar with at the start,' he said. 'I think over the last couple of seasons playing a number of different positions has only helped and I feel comfortable all down the left-hand side. If I am asked to play in any one of them I am confident I can do a job. I'm an attack-minded player but I can switch on my defensive mind as well.'
