Daniel Farke is pleased to see Norwich City's young guns continue to receive international recognition – but remains wary of too much game-time.

Jamal Lewis is away with Northern Ireland and fellow full-back Max Aarons with the England U19s, who are in Portugal for a friendly tomorrow (4pm).

That is followed by a home friendly against Macedonia at St George's Park for the Young Lions on Monday (2pm), while Lewis is set for Uefa Nations League games in Austria on Friday and Bosnia & Herzegovina on Monday (both 7.45pm).

'In general they are honoured and I'm also happy for them because it's a great honour to be allowed to play for your country and it's a sign of their quality performances,' Farke said.

'It's a great honour for them and also for the club. As a coach when you think about their level of performances, despite Jamal having no pre-season, and playing seven or eight weeks in a row Saturday-Tuesday, Saturday-Tuesday, and they have to go on for a few months you are a bit concerned because after this workload they should have some rest.

'We have to be careful in general in football with the planning, it is what it is, we can't change it, but in general we have to be careful that we do not overload, especially the international players.

'It is tricky but it is quite normal, the players are also desperate to play for their country and to be there with good performances.

'I am happy for them but it is difficult to find the right balance with the load because it's not like they should only be there with one or two good years in their career, it should be at least 10 good years.

'So we have to be careful in terms of the development, with too many games, but we have to handle it.'
