The Canaries are up against Hull City on Wednesday night and supporters' groups want to hear fans roaring from the terraces once again.

Robin Sainty, chairman of the Canaries Trust, said the atmosphere at home and away games this season had appeared to have an impact on the pitch.

He said: 'You can see it in some of the results this season, the way the crowd has lifted players in those last few minutes. The response to that has been tremendous.

'Fans can make a difference to what happens on the pitch and with 10 games to go lets all play a part and get the team over the line.'

Following Friday's 1-0 win over Swansea City comments had been made about a lack of atmosphere compared to previous games.

But Mr Sainty said it was likely due to the tense nature of the match. He added: 'I think the problem was because it was a tight game. You could feel the anxiety washing off the terraces.'

Andrew Lawn, co-founder of Along Come Norwich, said fans are in a position to enjoy these final games as the pressure is on promotion contenders Leeds United and Sheffield United.

He said: 'It is always a case of the louder it is at Carrow Road, the better it is for the team and everyone watching.

'On Wednesday, get to the ground early, help with the flags and go and enjoy it.

'No one expected Norwich to be in the position they are in now.'

Di Cunningham, organiser of the Proud Canaries, said: 'It does seem as though we [the fans] are the 12th man on the pitch and it does give the team a real boost.

'Let's all shout and wave our scarves as much as we can on Wednesday.'
