Norwich City could be tempted into a move for free agent striker Marouane Chamakh after missing out on a deadline day signing.

The ex-Crystal Palace and Arsenal striker was reportedly at City's Colney training base on Thursday morning to discuss a potential move.

Chamakh has been training with the Eagles since his Selhurst Park release in June but can sign for clubs outside of the transfer window, along with the likes of Victor Anichebe and Nicklas Bendtner.

The 32-year-old Morocco international made his name at Bordeaux during an eight-year spell before moving to London and stints at both Arsenal and West Ham prior to three years at Palace, where he scored seven goals in 59 appearances.

Norwich boss Alex Neil brought in Portuguese international forward Nelson Oliveira earlier this week to join Cameron Jerome, Kyle Lafferty and Carlton Morris as his recognised strikers on the books.
