Robbie Brady is ready for the 'biggest game' of his career in the Republic of Ireland's make-or-break Euro 2016 clash against Italy.

The Norwich City starlet knows the Irish could make an early exit from the tournament on Wednesday night if they fail to beat the Italians in their Group E finale in Lille (KO 8pm).

Brady and club-mate Wes Hoolahan have started both previous pool games, against Sweden and Belgium, in which Martin O'Neill's squad have picked up only one point.

'We have a cup final coming up now against Italy and hopefully we have enough to push ourselves through,' said Brady. 'It's the biggest game of our lives. Although losing to Belgium was disappointing we have to make sure we don't dwell on it too much. We need to prove our worth and show why we're here and that's to get out of the group. It'll be a tough task but hopefully we can go and do it. The spirit is still there.

'We've got a lot of match-winners in this team and hopefully someone can step up with the goods for the Italy game.'

Brady insists they have the quality to join the already qualified Italy, England and Wales in the knock-out stages.

'Some Ireland teams in the past might have had a different approach but we have some lads in at the minute that are really good footballers,' he said. 'We like to get the ball down and play, it's about finding the balance. We'll give it one more push. Even getting here, we've never done things the easy way. We'll keep on fighting and we'll go for a win. Italy have had two good wins and a good late victory (against Sweden), I don't think it'll take anything away from this game the fact they are qualified. We need to do our part to give ourselves the best opportunity.'
