Fulham starlet Ryan Sessegnon beat Norwich City star James Maddison to the EA Sports Young Player of the Season prize at the annual EFL Awards.

Maddison and Wolves ace Ruben Neves were also nominated for the award, which were presented at the London Hilton on Park Lane on Sunday evening.

Sessegnon, an England Under-21 team-mate of Maddison's despite being just 17 years old, has 14 goals and six assists to his name from 43 league games this season. He also won the overall Player of the Season award ahead of Bradley Dack of Blackburn and Billy Kee of Accrington.

Canaries star Maddison, with 14 goals and eight assists from 41 league games, had already been named in the Championship Team of the Season and also made it into the overall EFL Team of the Season at the awards evening.

Former Canaries keeper John Ruddy, who has played a key role in Wolves' promotion to the top flight, was also named in both teams after keeping 22 clean sheets.
