The National League club's head coach, Gary Owers, confirmed last week that the Gulls were in talks with City about an extension. The Canaries have now confirmed a deal has been agreed, ahead of a trip to promotion-chasing Wrexham on Saturday.

The 20-year-old had the one-year option in his contract activated by Norwich last summer so is entering the final six months of his deal.

Playing as a central defender and a right-back, Efete has made 14 appearances for bottom-of-the-table Torquay so far this season, having also spent two months on loan at Icelandic side Breidablik last summer.

Having featured as a wing-back recently, Owers told Devon Live: 'Michee carries the ball really well – he just runs past people more than he beats them. Sometimes he takes an extra touch and runs into a blind alley, but if he can get his head up a bit more, he can cause some real damage.'
