Chief executive David McNally has rubbished reports Norwich City tried to sign convicted rapist Ilombe Mboyo during the January transfer window.
The Sunday People claimed that City failed in a bid to sign the Belgian 25-year-old KAA Gent striker, who served three years of an eight-year sentence for the gang rape of a 14-year-old girl in Brussells.
But when quizzed by a fan about the report, McNally responded: 'We did not make any bid for this player in January.'
The People also suggested Norwich manager Chris Hughton will make a third attempt to sign Blackburn Rovers' Martin Olsson in the summer.
• Norwich City youngster Declan Rudd watched from the bench as League One strugglers Preston lost 2-1 at home to Shrewsbury.
The 22-year-old will spend the rest of the season with North End to get game time, and saw a first-half lead turned on its head as Thorsten Stuckman was beaten by the Shrews' last-minute penalty.
