Goalkeeping coach Dave Watson has moved closer to completing a move to Norwich City and a reunion with former boss Chris Hughton.
The switch is expected to be finalised in the next day or two after Birmingham's Watson held talks with the Canaries. Hughton confirmed the move was something 'we are very much working on' and City are reported to have told the Blues they are prepared to meet the compensation clause that would free the 38-year-old former Barnsley keeper from his contract.
Watson joined Birmingham from Nottingham Forest in January 2008 and has just returned from Euro 2012 coaching duty with England.
Whether he continues his role with Roy Hodgson and the national team remains to be seen. Former England Under-21 international Watson was brought in by Hodgson in May to work with Ray Clemence during the European Championship finals.
