Barely one month on from the greatest of days, Norwich City are back to work for their pre-season preparations.

The majority of the Canaries' squad returned to the club's Colney Training Centre on Monday for two days of fitness testing, before manager Alex Neil takes his squad to the Football Association's state of the art training base St George's Park in Burton.

That mirrors City's preparations from last season, with their five-day training camp starting on Wednesday.

After that, nine other members of Neil's squad will be added to the group – made up of Kyle Lafferty following his four-month loan spell in Turkey, Ricky van Wolfswinkel who spent all of last season at St Etienne, and the seven senior players who were handed extended summer breaks due to their international commitments.

It means Russell Martin, Steven Whittaker, Alex Tettey, Nathan Redmond, Jamar Loza, Wes Hoolahan and Martin Olsson are all unlikely to feature in City's opening pre-season fixture at Gorleston, which will take place at Emerald Park on Saturday, July 11.

Summer signing Youssouf Mulumbu officially begins his City career on Wednesday, following the expiry of his West Bromwich Albion contract at the end of June.

City have confirmed five senior pre-season friendlies to date, with further details of their summer plans expected over the coming days ahead of their Premier League opener on August 8.
