Norwich City players will be heading home after their internationals commitments of the past week.

Canaries Russell Martin and fellow defender Steven Whittaker played for Scotland in their 3-1 defeat by England at Celtic Park.

There were three former Canaries on the pitch as well – Chris Martin, now with Derby, started for the Scots, who had David Marshall in goal, while at the other end, one-time Canaries loan player Fraser Forster was between the sticks for England.

City youngster Cameron King scored deep into injury time to help Scotland Under-21s to a 1-1 friendly draw with Switzerland on Tuesday.

Nathan Redmond was in the England Under-21s side which lost 3-2 in France on Monday, the same night that Josh Murphy played for the Under-20s, who beat Portugal on penalties after a 1-1 draw in Coimbra. Goalkeeper Angus Gunn, son of legendary Canaries keeper and former manager Bryan Gunn, was an unused sub.

Alex Tetty played the full 90 minutes of Norway's 1-0 European Championship qualifying win in Azerbaijan at the weekend, although Martin Olsson missed Sweden's 1-1 draw in Montenegro on Saturday.
