Norwich City striker Sebastian Soto is the subject of plenty of interest - but not on the transfer market.

The 20-year-old striker is involved in a three-way tussle on the international scene - with Mexico and Chile reportedly joining the United States in wishing to cap City’s striker for their respective nations.

Soto has represented the US national team at every youth level since under-17s - impressing most noticeably at the U20 World Cup, scoring four goals in five games, a tally bettered only by Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.

He was set to be capped for the senior US men’s national team earlier this year, but football’s suspension owed to the coronavirus pandemic scuppered those plans.

Soto is filing for a Chilean passport with a view to being selected for their international side, according to reports from En Chancha in the country.

Chile are currently managed by Reinaldo Rueda and Soto is eligible to play for them due his dad being from the country.

There is another country also vying for his allegiance, with his mother being Mexican, they believe they also hold a chance of persuading Soto to play for them.
