Antonio Conte says he will rotate his side for Saturday's FA Cup clash at Carrow Road.
'When you play every three days, especially after the Christmas period, you have to make many rotations,' said the Italian.
'My idea is to continue like in the past because I trust and believe in my players but, for sure, we want to try to go through to the next round.'
David Luiz is in contention but there are doubts over Eden Hazard, with a calf problem.
Much of Conte's media conference was taken up by the signing of Ross Barkley and comments on two of his fellow Premier League managers.
Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger were all on the Italian's radar, with Conte suggesting Manchester United boss Mourinho has senile dementia.
Mourinho, who has had two spells as Chelsea boss and is Conte's immediate predecessor, appeared to take a swipe at the Italian – and Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp – for their antics in the technical area at his United press conference on Thursday when he said he did not feel the need to behave like 'a clown' on the touchline.
Asked about Mourinho's comments, Conte used the Italian phrase 'demenza senile' in relation to the Portuguese, which translates as senile dementia.
Conte said: 'I think he has to see himself in the past – maybe he was speaking about himself in the past. Maybe, sometimes, I think that someone forgets what's said in the past, which is his behaviour.
'Sometimes I think there is, I don't know the name, but demenza senile... when you forget what you do in the past.'
Conte described the verbal sparring between Premier League bosses as 'very strange'.
He added: 'I don't like to speak about the other coach, about the other players. I think it's a form of respect.'
Conte also responded to comments from Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, who accused Eden Hazard of diving to earn a penalty in Wednesday's 2-2 league draw.
'I think if Arsene Wenger watched the game again, (he would) understand he was very lucky during the game with the referee's decisions,' said Conte.
Barkley move from Everton to Chelsea was later confirmed by the Premier League champions.
The 24-year-old's contract at Goodison Park was due to expire at the end of the season after he rejected a new deal with the Toffees. The fee is around £15m.
