Liverpool's teenage striking sensation Ben Woodburn could be available on loan next month - with Norwich City one of four Championship clubs touted as a possible destination.
The Sun reported on Wednesday morning City, along with Alex Neil’s Preston, Leeds and Sunderland are interested in the 18-year-old, who has had to bide his time under Jurgen Klopp at Anfield this season after his breakthrough on Merseyside.
Black Cats’ chief Chris Coleman handed Woodburn his international debut and according to the Sun, Woodburn is his number one target in the January window if Klopp is prepared to sanction a short term loan move.
Canaries’ sporting director Stuart Webber worked as part of the Liverpool academy before moving onto Wolves and Huddersfield and recruited Adam Phillips from the Reds earlier this season.
Norwich have struggled for goals all season with injuries hitting both Nelson Oliveira and Cameron Jerome.
Woodburn’s signing would be a huge coup for any Championship club, after the teenager replaced Michael Owen as Liverpool’s youngest-ever scorer, when he was on target last season against Leeds.
Woodburn has made only one senior appearance this season but signed a longer term deal at Anfield after some eye-catching cameos in Wales’ World Cup qualifying campaign.
City have also been linked with another young forward over the festive period, with Lyon’s Aldo Kalulu on the Canaries’ radar, according to France Football.
The 21-year-old has spent the first part of the season at Ligue 2 outfit Sochaux and is a former French youth international.
