The Jordan Rhodes saga appears to be nearing a conclusion, with the Sheffield Wednesday striker set for a medical and to finalise personal terms over a proposed season long loan move to the Canaries.

City have been widely tipped with a deal for the powerful frontman all summer, with fresh speculation only last week suggesting the Canaries had refused to meet the Owls’ financial demands to push through a loan stint.

Here is The City’s football journalist Pete O’Rourke claimed on Monday night the two clubs have finally reached a compromise, and Rhodes has travelled to Norfolk to hold talks and undergo a medical.

Rhodes has slipped down the pecking order at Hillsborough, notching just 10 goals in 55 appearances, and his first-team opportunities were set to be limited again in Yorkshire.

Norwich brought in Finnish international Teemu Pukki earlier this month to bolster a shot-shy attack but with Nelson Oliveira touted with a summer exit the Canaries need to source fresh firepower.
