Borussia Dortmund right-back Felix Passlack has become Norwich City's third signing in just three days.

The 20-year-old – who can also play higher on the right flank and cover at left-back – has joined the Canaries on a season's loan from Farke's former club, where Passlack has made 21 senior appearances including two in the Champions League since making his Dortmund debut at the age of 17.

City confirmed the arrivals of former Brondby free agent and striker Teemu Pukki plus Wolves winger Ben Marshall on Saturday.

Passlack – once dubbed 'a new Marco Reus' as he worked his way through BVB's youth system – extended his Dortmund contract last summer ahead of joining Hoffenheim on loan for two seasons.

But after his appearances were split between their successful Bundesliga first team and fourth-tier second string, he struggled to make an impact and his loan was cut short this summer.

Now Passlack – a German youth international from under-16 to under-21 levels – will hook up with City, hoping for more success in the Championship.

'I'm looking forward to next season, I'm very happy to be here and I hope I can help the team,' Passlack told City's official website.

'It's my first time in England and it was a dream as a child. I think English football is perfect for me as it is strong, like myself, and I like the style of play.

'I've played with Mo Leitner at Dortmund and Christoph Zimmermann, and it's good to know some players here. I'm looking forward to the new season.'

Farke and a number of his coaching staff were previously at Dortmund – and will no doubt be well aware of Passlack's abilities.

The City head coach added: 'I'm really happy with this transfer. Felix is full of potential as a young guy of 20 years old. He's highly rated in Germany, has played for Borussia Dortmund and Hoffenheim and so has already played in the Bundesliga.

'Especially for Dortmund he's had some very good performances, for example when he played against Bayern Munich he played against (Franck) Ribéry and he was able to defend against him. I'm really happy we've been able to sign him.

'One of his strengths is his flexibility. In recent months he's played more in the right-back position but in his youth he normally played in the more offensive position, so he has a lot of speed which is quite important.

'And also at Dortmund he's played in the left full-back position and also can play in the wide position. I believe he's a good fit for our squad.'

Passlack's past pedigree includes playing every minute as Germany captain in their run to the 2015 European Under-17 Championship final in Bulgaria, where they lost to France.

Passlack's arrival should ensure Marshall is free to play higher up the pitch and offers Farke more right-back cover – as well as a fresh wing-back option.

Academy product Max Aarons signed his first professional deal this summer and is a contender to feature in Farke's senior set-up, meaning Passlack's arrival throws fresh doubt over the future of Ivo Pinto.

The Portuguese 28-year-old, who is out of contract next summer, was City's stand-in captain for Russell Martin during the first half of last season – but Pinto found opportunities ahead of Southampton loanee and makeshift right-back Harrison Reed hard to come by after the turn of the year.
