Ivo Pinto is in no rush to sort out his long term future at Norwich City.

The Canaries' captain salvaged a point with a late strike in the 1-1 Championship draw at Sunderland and Pinto's priority remains finishing the season on a positive note.

The 28-year-old is approaching the final year of his current deal at Carrow Road but has become a huge fans' favourite since his move from Dinamo Zagreb in 2016.

'At the moment I am just focused on helping the team and the club,' he said.

'Everybody knows I am a happy man here. I have a special relationship with Norwich. I have one year left so no time to rush.

'My priority is to help the team to become better.'

Pinto insists the signs are there Farke is on the right track.

'It is clear to everyone here now that Norwich has started a new chapter this season,' he said. 'Of course we all wanted things to go better than at the moment.

'We still have chances to continue building this new chapter at Norwich and if we do that in a good way then it shows the new season can be better for the club.

'We can be up there fighting for promotion.

'To be honest, when we look back on the season we had good and bad spells.

'Defensively I feel we are more solid than last season. If we can bring both parts together we have good chances next season.

'When we look at the beginning we brought Zimmermann and no-one knew about him but he has shown he is capable of playing at this level.

'It is showing game after game we can do it.

'Because in the Championship if you have a bad spell it can really kill you for the season.'
