Here is Paddy's verdict on Daniel Farke's brave battlers, who salvaged a draw that could be vital in the final outcome.

• Tim Krul

Beaten by a wonder strike from Fernando Forestieri. Thwarted him with a stunning second half save. Also denied Steven Fletcher a second after his controversial goal had earned the Dutchman a ridiculous yellow card for pointing out the huge error from the officials. Leader. 8

• Max Aarons

Gorgeous cross headed wide by Kenny McLean. Teed up Teemu Pukki in the first half. Looked to take a sore one on the ankle in a collision with Liam Palmer. 8

• Christoph Zimmermann

Caught in two minds it appeared in leaving Fletcher unattended at the far post. 6

• Ben Godfrey

Very decent close range headed chance in the second half. Drove his side on in the most fraught moments. 7

• Jamal Lewis

Still needs to work on that end product but a willing outlet in the final third. 7

• Tom Trybull

Could hardly be blamed for allowing Forestieri to turn 35 yards out before unleashing his rocket. Key role in the opening goal. 7

• Kenny McLean

Big headed chance felt like it must have grazed the outside of the post. 7

• Moritz Leitner

Looked at times like a player who has kicked his heels. Started on the right but far more comfortable drifting inside. Radar was off as he tried to force it in the final quarter. 6

• Marco Stiepermann

Composed finish to set City on their way. Almost repeated the trick from the restart to Fletcher's goal with an angled shot pulled wide. 7

• Onel Hernandez

Cameron Dawson denied him with an outstretched leg. Thrust and energy vital components. 7

• Teemu Pukki

By his standards a below par offering. The edge was off his game in the box and linking the play. More than enough credit in the bank. 7

City substitutes

• Dennis Srbeny n/a
