Norwich City keeper Remi Matthews has sent a 'massive thank you' to Plymouth Argyle after completing his loan at the League One club.

The 24-year-old made 27 appearances, keeping 10 clean sheets, as the Pilgrims just missed out on a play-off place.

'I want to say a massive thank you to everyone involved with Argyle it's been an enjoyable and positive year for me overall,' Matthews posted on Twitter.

'What we as a team managed to achieve from Christmas just shows what a group we had! You fans have been different class from the start. I can't thank every one of you enough, I want to wish the football club all the best in the future, it's a great club with lots of potential.'

Yanic Wildschut let a photo do the talking, simply posting an image of the Cardiff City squad celebrating automatic promotion to the Premier League with a smiley face.

The 26-year-old Dutch winger made 10 appearances for the Bluebirds after joining on loan in January but only three were starts, being credited with one assist.

Wildschut made a high-profile defensive error during a 3-1 loss at Derby which could have cost the Welsh side second place and was not among the substitutes as Neil Warnock's team sealed promotion with a 2-0 win at Hull and then a 0-0 draw with Reading on the final day.

The former Wigan attacker, reportedly signed by City for an initial £4m in January 2017, has a year remaining on his Canaries contract but with an option for a further year.

Another Norwich player completing their loan was young forward Diallang Jaiyesimi, who has gained his first Football League experience with League Two team Grimsby Town.

The former Dulwich Hamlet man, who turned 20 this week and has at least two years left on his Norwich contract, made 35 appearances but only 13 were starts as the Mariners avoided relegation.

'Thank you to all the staff, players and fans at Grimsby Town, couldn't of met and played with a better bunch of lads,' Jaiyesimi posted on Twitter.

'Thoroughly enjoyed my time on loan. I want to wish everyone all the best with the future! Grimsby Town will always have a place in my heart!'
