Norwich City striker Josip Drmic admitted his Arsenal error made for an uncomfortable journey back from the Emirates.

Drmic’s careless square pass deep in his own half was slotted by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang early in the second half to put the Gunners out of sight in Wednesday’s 4-0 Premier League defeat.

City host Brighton behind closed doors at Carrow Road this weekend and Drmic accepts they are running out of chances to stay up.

“Everyone was disappointed about that game. Now we have to stick together, stay strong,” he said. “I was disappointed the day after. To lose 4-0 is hard to accept. The whole journey back I was thinking about my mistake for the third goal.

“But you cannot just keep dwelling on what has gone. You have to stop and then move forward. You have to train harder, stay positive. It doesn’t matter now if it is Arsenal or Brighton or Manchester City. We have to focus on us and what we are trying to do.

“We know it is very difficult from here. We don’t have the best situation in the table. But if you feel sorry for ourselves you cannot move up.

“It is a strange situation. We had this long break and now the games are every three days and with no supporters. A weird situation and no-one knows what the future holds either.”

Swiss international Drmic has scored three times in 21 appearances during an injury-hit debut season at Carrow Road following his free transfer move from the Bundesliga.

“In England it is much more intense, more speed, more running. You have to decide things quicker in your head,” he said, speaking to Talksport. “I would say it is more powerful than in Germany or Switzerland. You can’t even compare the Swiss football. In Germany they place more emphasis on the tactics.”
