Daniel Farke called a halt to hostilities ahead of his reunion with Sheffield United rival Chris Wilder for the first time since the battle of Bramall Lane.

The Canaries won a fraught Championship affair 1-0 in September, a game notable for a post-match rant from the Blades' chief over what he labelled a 'lack of respect' shown by Farke's club.

City's team bus was delayed prior to kick-off, which appeared to set the tone for Wilder, who accused Norwich of gamesmanship in a match that saw him sent from the dugout for encroaching into Farke's technical area, to retrieve the ball.

Farke revealed on Friday Wilder had phoned him in the aftermath of that explosive duel to clear the air.

'I only have compliments for the work Chris Wilder is doing there.

'They're having an outstanding season, and I'm really respectful of the job he's done,' he said. 'I don't think he has a problem with me, maybe with our bus driver.

'I have mentioned before the emotion is one of the reasons why we love this game.

'Then a day or two later you calm down. Two days after the game he gave me a call and we spoke about all these things.

'Everything was done. There have been some emotional occasions for me this season but probably that was the most emotional.

'We are all the same and if there is a battle and high emotion you don't have to be scared.

'They want to win just as badly. You have to relish the battle but do it in a fair way and with respect.

'We shook hands after the last game and I was in his office and spoke to his assistant coach. He was at his press conference at the time but it was very relaxed.'
