Marcus Edwards is closing in on a Norwich City debut.

The Tottenham prodigy labelled 'Mini Messi' by Spurs' chief Mauricio Pochettino has yet to force his way into Daniel Farke's plans since a January loan move.

Farke was critical of the gifted 19-year-old attacker's attitude when he first arrived in Norfolk, but the head coach revealed Edwards' chance will come - although not on Tuesday against Nottingham Forest.

'He has every possibility,' he said.

'Our squad is not too big and at the moment without Tom Trbyull we have 21 outfield players available. So he is an option.

'In general, he has improved a lot, in terms of his attitude, but he can still grow up a bit more and also we have to work on strengthening his body to help his endurance and power.

'The last two weeks he was able to do proper training with us.

'He is not far away, not an option for this next game (against Nottingham Forest), because it is a bit too early and he has to improve a bit in some topics.

'At the latest, after the next international break but he might be involved before then.'

Edwards' prospects could hinge on Farke's quest for more goals, which saw Onel Hernandez and Josh Murphy both start the last home game against Bolton.

'We have many options and the opponent doesn't know if we will come with a three-man or four-man formation.

'For that, I don't want to speak too much,' said Farke.

'We are in a good shape and we want to go further on. It will be a close game but we are prepared and we want to score more goals than recent games.

'My defensive and midfield players are allowed to score as well. We know we have to solve this problem.'

Farke reiterated City's squad have plenty to prove over the run-in.

'When you sit in 14th you don't have the right to speak about promotion but let's see how far we can climb the table,' he said.

'I don't want to speak about targets but we know exactly where we are.

'When you are a professional the pressure is there. If you are top of the table then it is to go further on, at the bottom you need points to fight against relegation, and when you are in the midfield, like we are, and you work for such a big club like Norwich you know the fans think we can do extraordinary things.

'That should be the same for my players.'
