Daniel Farke is plotting the downfall of Leeds but a new deal for Christoph Zimmermann and the imminent arrival of Sean Raggett underline he is also planning for the future.
Zimmermann extended his Carrow Road contract until at least 2021 on Friday, after signing a new three-and-a-half year deal, with a one-year option.
Fellow centre back Raggett is set to arrive next month, with Farke yet to make a final decision on his short term future following an impressive few months back on loan at Lincoln City.
'There is no decision right now,' said Farke.
'We have to make some compliments to Stuart Webber and his scouting.
'He knew about him when I first arrived, because I was more concentrated on the lads already here. He signed him and then sent him on loan.
'It was totally the right decision. He shines really bright and we have the option to bring him back.

'We are good in that area right now but you never know what can happen in four or five weeks, with injuries or bookings and many games.
'The window opens and there will be some speculation around our players.
'It is good to have this option with Sean.
'He is a bit like Christoph, a young player with potential.
'He has been here during the international breaks with us and he is a good guy.
'We will see when he is here for a few weeks how quickly he can adapt to our level. What happens for the next part of the season is hard to predict.'

Farke is certain Raggett can make the same leap from lower league football as the man who followed him from Dortmund.
'It is a bit like Christoph. We didn't know if he could handle this level,' he said.
'I remember after Arsenal, when he had to mark Olivier Giroud, Arsene Wenger spoke a lot with me about him, 'Where did you find that guy?' and I had to tell him I didn't have to find him, he worked with me in Dortmund.
'We have the same feeling with Sean that he can adapt.
'There is no 100pc guarantee but I want a deeper look at him in January.
'In general you have to say Christoph is one of the biggest surprises in this period.
'He knows himself he still has to improve. He has been struggling with some mistakes in the last few games but it is a good sign for our way. We want to work with players running up the hill, not down the hill.
'We want players who are desperate to play for Norwich.'
