Daniel Farke is relaxed about his contract situation at Norwich City.

The former Borussia Dortmund II coach signed a two year deal in 2017, to become the club's first overseas managerial appointment.

Farke's focus is preparing his squad for the Championship kick off - and any talks on his own future can wait.

'I know in this game when it comes down to a player with 12 months left to run on the contract there can be a lot of discussions and speculation,' he said. 'Ivo (Pinto) will be out of contract, Timm Klose will be out of contract in the next year.

'I don't have the feeling anyone is concerned about that here. But for me, a year is a long time. A contract in this business never saves you from difficult developments. I totally appreciate the trust and that I am in this responsible role for Norwich City.

'All my plans and strategy are to help this club in the short term, the mid term and the long term.

'All my actions and thoughts are about this.

'I totally feel the support of the most important people inside the club, we speak each and every day, so for me the contract is not so important. I felt the same when I was a player.

'There will be 100pc the right time to speak about these things but I got the feeling we don't have any pressure in this area.'

Farke sanctioned Yanic Wildschut's loan move last week, while Russell Martin is expected to find a similar option, but any further exits will be on the head coach's terms as he prepares for a second crack at the Championship.

'It will be who I feel is not perhaps going to feature because the financial pressure is away.

'It is what makes sense from the sporting side,' he said. 'Now you can't say there won't be a crazy offer for a player we don't want to lose on the sporting side, that is football and can always happen, but we are much more on the front foot than any point in the last 16 months.

'We don't need to sell any player. For me this will be a tougher league this time around.

'I expect the clubs to come down to do much better than those last season. You take Sunderland, they fight against relegation and have a bad end. Now the clubs from League One are big clubs with a good chance to stay in the league.

'It will be much closer and hard to predict. We are looking forward to it. We just have to fight for every point.'
