Daniel Farke insists he can change to get Norwich City's Championship season on track.

The Canaries' boss will shuffle his pack for the Boxing Day trip to Birmingham City, but St Andrews will also see a change of tack.

Farke labelled Norwich's first half against Brentford 'weak' and he aims to avoid a repeat in the West Midlands.

'Even if we had beaten Brentford I would have made changes, because of the load. Now after that first half, maybe a few more,' he said. 'We have to change our style a bit more and work on the details around defending.

'There is just one thing you can do.

'Concentrate on the basics and that means defending.

'We haven't conceded many goals but every game it is one or two. Now we have to concentrate on playing with a good balance against the ball.

'That is the only way to build the self-confidence for important matches ahead. It is good to have players available who are more concentrated on this topic.

'Brentford was a chance to make a big step in the table and we wanted to do that in the style we have shown recently.

'We had some really good performances and if we can do it in this way it would be better but after such a poor result we know have to react in these next three games.

' was the same 20 years ago, it is the same today and it will be the same 20 years from now.

'When you face an opponent towards the bottom of the table you have to concentrate on keeping the distance from you to them.'

Jamal Lewis' senior debut was the one bright spot against the Bees but Grant Hanley departed with a knee injury that continues to be assessed by the club's medical staff.

'Just before the goal the opponent trod on his knee and there was a big swelling. I hope it is not too bad and it calms down but he didn't have any feeling in the knee at half-time,' said Farke. 'We hope he can return pretty soon because he has been pretty important in recent weeks.

'I brought Jamal on not because he is a young lad, but because he deserved it.

'He was brilliant in pre-season, he had been back three-and-a-half weeks and he looked pretty sharp in recent days.

' want his pace and his ability to create something. For his first 25 minutes it was good and experience for him, sadly, not in the best surroundings. 'He is not

able to celebrate a bit more but it was a solid performance.'
