Out-of-favour defender Russell Martin has confirmed it is likely he will leave Norwich City on loan during the January transfer window.

The 32-year-old has been strongly linked with Scottish Premiership side Rangers, as a move to Glasgow could help get him back into Scotland contention, with the last of his 29 caps coming in March last year.

After being left out of the City squad for Saturday evening's FA Cup third round tie against Chelsea at Carrow Road, Martin did appear on the pitch, as a pundit for BT Sport.

'I'm not sure where the destination is but the likelihood is I will go out on loan,' Martin said, when asked about his future.

After featuring in the broadcaster's pre-match build-up, the long-serving Canaries defender joined the BBC Radio Norfolk commentary team on the South Stand gantry to offer analysis as Daniel Farke's team earned a replay thanks to a 0-0 draw with the Premier League giants.
