'He will manage a top European club' - Sky is the limit for Farke says City chief Webber

Stuart Webber is convinced Norwich City head coach Daniel Farke is destined for the top.
Farke and his core backroom team signed new Carrow Road contracts last week, pledging their futures to the club until 2022, after overseeing a major turnaround on the pitch.
Norwich went into the international break four points clear of the chasing pack in the Championship, with eight league games left in their quest to reach the Premier League.
Webber hand-picked Farke as the club’s first overseas managerial appointment in 2017, and City’s sporting director believes the Canaries have pulled off another coup to extend his stay.
“I expect Daniel will leave Norwich at some point, because I rate him that highly, and he will manage a top European club one day,” he said. “But we hope that is a long way in the future. We said it about James Maddison last season. There would come a time when either the club outgrew him or the other way around.
“He was excellent for us and made the club a lot of money when he left and that was the best for both parties.
“We were delighted to get this done. It has been a long process and taken a long time. As we always said, both myself and Daniel, it had to be right for everyone concerned. We got to a point where everyone was happy, satisfied and we can now look forward. From the club’s side, we know we have got a top class coach who has committed himself to us for a long time. That is great.
“It means we can continue to build on the excellent work he has produced so far. That is exciting. It is like signing up a top player to a long contract. It’s about trying to get better all the time.”
Farke’s growing success left some City fans worried he could be poached, as contract talks rumbled on in the background, but Webber was more relaxed.
“There was never any concern for the simple reason that we both have a relationship built on honesty,” he said.
“If there was clubs who had come to him and were prepared to offer him jobs this summer I know he would have sat down and told me that was the case, if that was what he wanted to do in terms of seeing out his original contract.
“But that was never the case, which is why I was relaxed about the situation, while ensuring we spoke about the things we needed to get the matter resolved.”
