Emi Buendia is red hot right now but Norwich City are far from a one-man Championship team, says Daniel Farke.

The Argentine midfielder has notched four goals in his last five appearances, and proved the difference in the most recent Championship home wins over Swansea and Hull City.

The 22-year-old is spearheading the Canaries’ assault on the Premier League, but his head coach is quick to share the praise around.

“Emi is doing fantastic at the moment. Not only his goals and his assists but also in terms of his workload without the ball and how crucial he is for our possession,” said Farke.

“One of our key players without a doubt but I would say one of the even bigger things for us is that our man of the match is changing every week. That shows you how many strengths we have.

“Our defensive players have been fantastic as well. We are scoring so many goals. I am totally happy with the whole group.

“It is important now we stick to our style, stick to our philosophy; that we are there with attacking football and we are the protagonists on the pitch.

“I want us to be brave and be aggressive.

“You will never be successful just biting the nails and hoping for a result.”

City head to Paul Warne’s Rotherham on Saturday top of the table and with Farke urging his men to get on the front foot.

Jamal Lewis was still surging forward in stoppage time, during the midweek 3-2 win against Hull City, but the Canaries’ chief knows the balance must be right.

“We chose too often to go for the counter instead of calming the game down and controlling the game in the second half,” he said. “It will always be the same. I like this attitude. We are 3-1 up and we create more chances. I like this wildness and a bit of naivety. I don’t just want to park the bus.

“But the balance has to be right when you chose to stay in possession and when you counter and in the last 15 minutes we could have done that better.

“We know it is a difficult task when you travel to a side fighting relegation. They won’t get nervous either because they probably knew they would be in this situation at the start of the season.

“I expect lots of commitment and fighting spirit. But we have shown we can handle difficult tasks this season.”
