Daniel Farke has thanked the health workers and reiterated why this is a time to stay safe and stay at home with football on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The City head coach posted a video message from his own home in Germany which the club released early on Monday morning.

The Canaries’ coaching staff and players do not know when their Premier League and FA Cup quest will resume, after last playing on March 7, but that is insignificant for Farke in the midst of the spread of the virus.

“Hello guys. Daniel Farke here. First of all I hope you are all well. I want to thank all the people and all the health workers who are working so hard in our NHS. They are doing a great job. Thanks a lot. This job is more important than our jobs in football and what we do on the football pitch.

“These people, in this moment, need all our support.

“It is important to stay strong, to stay together, to stay united and to stay indoors and safe at home. We have to show our responsibility for the whole society, especially the older generation.

“I don’t think it is too demanding for a few weeks to calm everything down. To look after each other and to care for each other. I wish us all that we stay strong, we stay kind hearted and united and if we do this the sun will shine again pretty soon.

“I hope to see you all again back healthy and in a good condition in our living room at Carrow Road. So look after each other, show your responsibility for society and stay healthy. All the best. See you soon.”
