Daniel Farke admitted Norwich City's 1-0 Championship win at QPR was not good for his nerves.

City had to defend stoutly in the final minutes to seal a third consecutive league win and a second on the road in four days, particularly when QPR introduced the towering Matt Smith who was the Canaries' destroyer-in-chief last season at Loftus Road.

'To be honest for my nerves I would have preferred for us to have scored a second goal a bit earlier because we had so many good chances,' said Farke.

'When they are able to bring in a guy like Matt Smith, who is two metres tall, and they hit long balls in the last minutes you know sometimes a set piece, throw in, corner something can happen.

'We stuck together, we defended everything and it is also good for the self confidence that you are able to defend in this game with a clean sheet. We controlled the game, the possession and the only situations for QPR were free kicks in wide areas.

'It wasn't a game for a big central striker because we kept them away from our box. Certainly until the end of the game.

'Our away record last season was pretty good. It is always good to have wins and clean sheets and two away wins in a row is outstanding. QPR were here with self-confidence as well. To come here and perform like this with so many players injured, I can only praise the lads.'
