Norwich City striker Simeon Jackson has been named in the Canada squad for next week's international friendly against Belarus.

Coach Stephen Hart has included him in a party of 18 for the match in Antalya, Turkey, on Tuesday, March 29 - one day after Jackson's 24th birthday.

It will be the first meeting between the two countries on the international stage and forms part of Canada's preparation for the 2011 Concacaf Gold Cup in the USA in June.

Jackson joins City duo Andrew Crofts (Wales) and Henri Lansbury (England Under-21) on international duty during the two-week break from Championship action.

• In addition, goalkeeper Jed Steer is in the England Under-19 squad for Tuesday's game against Holland in Putten, while fellow keeper Angus Gunn is in the England Under-16 squad for Wednesday's Victory Shield match against Northern Ireland in Ballymena.
