Norwich City's new signing Cameron Jerome is in no doubt he made the right choice to join the Canaries' Championship crusade.
Jerome trained with his team mates for the first time on Thursday ahead of a potential debut in this weekend's East Anglian derby at Ipswich.
The powerful striker signed a three-year deal after rejecting interest from elsewhere after Stoke made it clear his days in the Potteries were numbered.
'I'm excited to get going,' he told the club's official site. 'I've met the boys now and I just want to play some football. Stoke made it clear I was no longer required and part of the plans so from there on I had to look at my options and Norwich was one of those. It felt really comfortable, it felt right and after speaking to the manager what he said about where he wanted to take the club and the ambitions he had appealed to me.'
City chief Neil Adams believes Jerome's versatility is a major plus.
'With Cameron again he gives us that something different, he gives us power and pace leading the line,' he said. 'He is someone who can be a real handful to defenders when he is at it. I think he can play a typical number nine or a withdrawn striker or even that wider striker. He has played those roles in his career. We hope for lots of goals from him and I know he is capable, but it is what he provides to the team.'
